Definition of volunteer

A volunteer is a person who chooses to devote some of their time and skills to helping other people, communities or organizations without receiving financial compensation for their work. Volunteering is based on personal initiative and is motivated by the desire to contribute to the common good, support a noble cause or help people in need.
Volunteers can work individually or within non-profit organizations, NGOs, charities, community groups, cultural or sporting events, humanitarian aid programs and many other contexts. Activities carried out by volunteers can range from simple acts of kindness to long-term structured projects and can include various fields such as education, health, environmental protection, social work, arts and culture.
Through its altruistic nature, volunteering benefits both the communities served and the volunteers themselves, providing the latter with opportunities for personal, professional development and the improvement of social skills.

About

Our organization is active in the youth field, providing a framework for implementing Erasmus+ projects (youth exchanges, training sessions for youth workers) and in the ESC – European Solidarity Corps (medium- to long-term international volunteering projects) for the community.

These two programs are funded by the European Union for various activities specific to the association, targeting young people (aged 13-35), youth workers (18+ with no age limit), and communities. For each of these two programs, interested organizations can obtain accreditation valid until 2027, ensuring simplified access to funding.

Experiment Teatru Clandestin holds both accreditations—one for the Erasmus+ Youth Program and the other for the European Solidarity Corps – International Volunteering Program, where we have a management role (meaning we can host and send volunteers to other countries in Europe), both valid until 2027.

Of course, in order to obtain these accreditations, we presented a development strategy for the organization, non-formal education, young people, and the community we are now part of, Lăzăreni Commune, Bihor.
